POLICE are appealing for information after a statue was stolen from the Shipwrights Way footpath in Langford. Earlier this year, 20 small statues by sculptor Richard Perry were placed along the length of the trail. The stolen statue was of a nightjar bird and was located on a plinth at Broxhead Common. On July 4, the plinth and the statue had been removed and placed on the ground. The plinth was due to be replaced, but workmen discovered 10 days later that the statue had been stolen from the top of the plinth. For full story, see this week's Bordon Herald.
