PEOPLE are being encouraged to be wary following a spate of thefts from cars and a garden over the festive period.

Between 5.45pm and 8.30pm on December 29, thieves opened an unlocked gate to get into a back garden in Kildare Close, Bordon, where they stole a blue and silver Gary Fisher mountain bike.

Before Christmas, in the early hours of December 22, thieves stole the front and back number plates from a Renault Clio parked on Sunbury Close, Bordon.

A jacket and a purse were stolen from a Volkswagen Polo, in a residential parking bay on Morse Close, Whitehill, after it was broken into in the early hours of December 19. Also, the door of a transit van parked nearby was forced open, but nothing was stolen.

Between December 17 and December 19, thieves broke into a Skoda Fabia, parked on a driveway at Sutton Field, Whitehill, and stole a sat nav and cash.

And December 9 and December 23, burglars tried to break into garages on Birch Close, Bordon. A garage door was forced open, causing damage, but nothing was taken.
