Name: Damian Hinds – Conservative

What do you love about East Hampshire?

The astounding number of public-spirited people, the huge range of voluntary groups, committed to supporting our society and our local community.

What do you think the biggest issue facing residents is?

For young families: cost of housing. For everyone: making sure we have a vibrant, job-creating local economy.

In a sentence, why do you deserve the job?

Representing East Hampshire is an immense privilege that I don’t think anyone could claim to ‘deserve’. If re-elected, I will continue to work hard for our community, local groups, and everyone in East Hampshire.

What book or books should everyone read?

To Kill a Mockingbird.

Where did you last go on holiday?

Northern Holland, cycling with my family.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

At different times: a firefighter, a soldier, an architect, a petrol pump attendant.

When was the last time you used public transport?

Wednesday last week.

If someone wanted to eat out in East Hampshire, where would you recommend?

Any one of many fantastic pubs, such as the No-name or the Trooper.

What do you hope to get for Christmas?

A lie in.

What do you do to switch off from politics?

Playing football with our children or family board games. Weekend bike rides.
