BREXIT has been highly divisive, here as elsewhere. It is high time to move forward.

On doorsteps and at public meetings, people are talking about jobs, our public services, the environment.

I worked for 19 years in business before parliament. I know that it’s business that makes the economy that generates the money that funds our public services.

Locally, too, we must keep a thriving, job-creating local economy with investment in skills.

As education secretary I drove forward the new T Levels vocational qualifications and I will continue to support growth in quality apprenticeships locally.

Our residents’ surveys confirm the NHS remains the top local priority. I support our community hospitals and Conservatives will increase health spending to new record levels. Rural crime and the scourge of ‘county lines’ drugs need sharp focus.

Hampshire police are adding 210 more officers this year, and will grow further under our plans.

I have championed an ambitious but practical approach on climate change, the defining challenge of our age. It has been the greatest honour, and responsibility, to represent you in parliament.

If re-elected I will continue striving to support East Hampshire’s many excellent voluntary groups, and working hard for local people.
