SANTA and his helpers delivered a seasonal message to Jeremy Hunt’s Hindhead office before Christmas, coinciding with a House of Lords vote on the Trade Bill.

They were part of the WeOwnIt campaign seeking to persuade 100 key Conservative MPs to “restore parliament’s power to protect the NHS in future trade deals”.

The campaigners wished the MP “happiness and fulfilment” in the new year, and called for “any US trade deal to be scrutinised in parliament, before it is concluded, thus ensuring it does not undermine the NHS as a publicly owned non-profit service”.
