PLANS to modernise and introduce Sunday opening at Bordon's Post Office branch, at the Forest Centre (Martin's), have received the stamp of approval. The new service, set to be up and running by the end of October, will be operated from three counters, two of which will be open between 9am and 5.30pm Mondays to Saturdays, therefore seeing little change. But a so-called "combi-counter", at which customers can access Post Office products and services, alongside retail transactions, when the main counters are closed, will be available. Customers will also be able to access Post Office services during the extended opening, including on Sundays and Saturday afternoons. As a result, the branch will close for refurbishment on Tuesday, October 14, and is set to reopen on Monday, October 27. For full story, see this week's Bordon Herald.
