WHITEHILL Town Council this week urged people to think seriously about standing in next year's elections. With less than a year to go until all 15 seats on the town council are put to the public vote, councillors and officers are looking to open the doors of democracy. "In these challenging times, we need to have the best quality councillors for our local communities," town council clerk Chris Youngs explained. "To do that, we want to actively find new talent. "Running up to the May 7, 2015, local elections, we wish to encourage new candidates to come forward. "Councillors need to reflect the communities they serve, empathise with local residents and communicate effectively with them. Only by ensuring there is a good range of councillors can we hope to do this." For full story, see this week's Bordon Herald.
