Alresford Museum has been presented with two Alresford Crafts dolls and a 200-year-old miniature domino set made by a prisoner of war.

The dolls marked the births of Prince William in 1982 and Prince Henry – known as Harry – in 1984. Each came from a limited set of 2,500 and each has a certificate of authenticity.

They were given to the museum, with twin dolls Amanda and David, by Helen Walker. Her mum Joan Apps, of Gosport, bought them at Granny’s Toy Cupboard in Lee-on-the-Solent.

The domino set was carved from animal bone by a French prisoner of the Napoleonic wars and was donated by the Purkiss family of Alresford.

The museum will be open again on April 10.
