ALTON and Bordon National Childbirth Trust (NCT) were determined to give loneliness the Big Push as they met on Saturday, October 26, to enjoy a rock hunt in Chawton Park Wood, Medstead.

The event was designed to encourage families to get out in the fresh air, and despite some heavy rain, around 30 families gathered at Medstead village hall.

They enjoyed a reading of Julia Donaldson’s classic Room on a Broom, before setting off to walk a 2km route to the woods and back.

Despite the heavy rain, walkers found a series of story rocks, each one individually hand painted by local NCT volunteers, to be taken home as souvenirs.

The walk was followed by a session of themed activities and crafts, a cake sale and grand raffle which raised more than £200 to support the work of the NCT in the area.
