SETTING the benchmark for the future eco town and the first Army land to be released for development, Bordon's Quebec Barracks is earmarked as the site for 80 new houses, all zero-carbon rated.
And to increase employment, if approved, the houses would come with the planning condition that one new job per household must be provided in the new town.
To create community harmony, the barracks site, expected to be marketed from April, would be centred round a cafe or a meeting room.
