HEAVY rain may have hindered a street walk around the village with lighted lanterns by the Kingsley Carollers, but it in no way dampened spirits.

Instead, they made their first port of call The Old Rectory where they sang for Serena and Justin Freeland, who organised the evening on the run up to Christmas.

In return they were given mulled wine and hot cider and soft drinks for the children before a merrier band went on to sing at Okham Hall.

Then with lanterns lit they made their way to The Cricketers pub, where they sang their final carols and invited the customers at the bar to join in.
