RESIDENTS close to the proposed inner relief road were told this week that, although there will be a visual and noise impact, highways engineers will work hard to mitigate it "as much as possible".
Tim Wall, Hampshire County Council's strategic transport team leader, gave an update on the scheme as public consultations came to a close this week.
He told Whitehill Town Council's town development committee that, following interacting with members of the public, changes to the plan will be made "where appropriate".
Concerns were raised at the meeting on Monday, with resident Stephen Miles voicing fears the new road will "effectively blight" properties in Champney Close and Sutton Fields.
