THE focus will continue to be on ‘Reducing, Reusing and Recycling’ this Sunday when Petersfield Town Council holds its third and final CARRR Boot Sale of the summer.

The gathering on the Avenue Playing Fields is more than just a car boot sale as the ‘Three Rs’ message is central. ‘Reduce’ so you use less in the first place, ‘Reuse’ something you don’t need anymore, and ‘Recycle’ something into a needed object.

“The community has really embraced our CARRR Boot Sales and they’ve been a great success,” said PTC climate officer Michelle Snow.

She added: “We hope that after our last one on September 24 everyone will continue to support us in the new year when we hope to hold them again in the spring.”

Previous sales attracted around 70 sellers apiece with tents, baby equipment, clothes and gardening items all being snapped up.

The Petersfield WI and Bean & Gone Coffee Truck have provided cakes, drinks and breakfast butties, respectively, while PeCAN (Petersfield Climate Action Network) has provided advice on how to live greener lifestyles.

Sellers and ‘freecyclers’ can register for a £5 pitch through www.ticketsource.co.uk/thefestivalhall while there’s no charge if you’re giving items away.

Tables for under-18s in the Avenue Pavilion will be available for a £10 deposit but a parent or guardian must give permission. Gates open to sellers at 7am with visitors welcome from 8am. For more details call PTC on 01730 264182 or visit www.petersfield-tc.gov.uk
