THE Whitehill and Bordon War Memorial Association will meet next month to discuss a summer service to honour Tom Adlam.

Mr Adlam was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery in the Battle of the Somme in 1916. Tom lived in the St Matthew’s School house for many decades and was buried, in 1975, at the Blackmoor church.

Invitations have gone out to the Army, Air Cadets, Scout Association and Royal British Legion.

The meeting will be held at the Forest Community Centre on May 2, from 7pm-8.30pm.
