A summer programme of music, theatre and entertainment has delivered more than just fringe benefits to one of East Hampshire’s most loved charities.
Entertainment Events have raised more than £15,000 for the Rosemary Foundation by holding a trio of hugely successful festivals around Petersfield.
The Half Moon Summer Festival raised £8,450 while drinkers at the Hawkley Festival swelled the coffers by a further £4,150.
And the Petersfield Fringe Festival brought the curtain down on a summer of fundraising with the six-day event raising £2,500 for the Lavant Street charity.
The shows in Churcher’s College offered something for all tastes with comedy, music and family entertainment, ranging from new material to classic revivals.
The Winton Players, CCADS, Hawkley Players and Shepherd’s Crook Productions took to the stage along with solo artists like Tony Johnson, Cassandra Rix, Ben Gander and Richard Saxel.
Audiences stepped into different worlds from the streets of Victorian London with Sherlock Homes to wartime Guernsey and Disney castles.
And while the Fringe Festival will take a pause in 2026, Chris Pellett and the Entertainment Events team are thrilled with the results of their fancy for festivals.
He said: “None of this would have been possible without an extraordinary company of supporters, of course.
“That means our tireless performers, our ever-generous audiences, our smiling volunteers and our sponsors.
“There’s a particular debt of gratitude to Churcher’s College whose facilities provided both stage and shelter.”
Sponsors Dylan’s Ice Cream, The Half Moon, Barden FM, The Great British Cake Shop, Gail’s and Mackarness & Lunt all deserve a namecheck for their support in helping the Rosemary Foundation.
“We are 100 per cent grateful for the donation,” said a spokesperson for the latter, adding: “Thank you to everyone who performed or came to any of the festivals, as it all helps.”
