TO help them with their gardening topic, pupils from Woodlands Pre-School at Headley Down paid a visit to the shops and, accompanied by supervisors Claire Morgan and Gillian Snelgar, called in at the greengrocers in Bordon's Forest Centre and the library.

They inspected the fruit and vegetables and chose water melon and dragon fruit, among others, to buy and take back to taste the next day.

At the library, they were able to choose books using their own library cards and after a visit to Wilkinsons to buy some plants they returned to school on the minibus in time for lunch.
