THE Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance on Monday launched Small Change, Big Difference – a regular campaign designed to provide a steady income for the charity.
Supporters are asked to make a monthly donation of £8, equating to 26p per day, or just over 1p per hour.
“Your small change will make a big difference to the future of your air ambulance,” said the charity’s ead of income generation, Rachel Leaman.
“A regular donation of £8 per month, or 1p per hour, will give us an income we can rely on for a stable future.”
It currently costs more than £9,000 per day to keep the air ambulance flying and saving lives.
And as looks forward to a second decade of operations, and the charity continues to evolve pre-hospital care to meet patient demand, daily operating costs will increase. The charity must therefore continuously look at new and innovative ways to raise money.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will be promoting Small Change, Big Difference on social media and in the community with eye-catching posters and videos featuring the faces of supporters matched to faces of the charity critical care team.
“We’ve had some fun looking for everyday objects costing around 26p that we can use to highlight our campaign.
“We want our supporters to know that for the cost of a daily curly wurly they could help the long-term future of their air ambulance,” Rachel added.
