A key road in and out of Farnham is to close for more than three weeks starting Monday – with a long diversion route proposed.

Crondall Lane is to close between its junctions with West Street and Beavers Road from November 27 to December 20.

It will allow Surrey County Council to undertake a full reconstruction of the lane’s pavements.

A diversion route will take traffic on a potential six-mile detour via Dora’s Green and Upper Hale.

This avoids a more obvious cut-through in Beaver’s Road past the University for the Creative Arts and Potters Gate School.
