SIXTH-form students from Alton Convent School have benefited from a one-day digital coding workshop at Sky Studios in Brentford.
During the session in West London the girls discovered how to design and code a website, create an app, and explored the marketing potential of social media.
The day concluded with a filming session in the studios. The students were appreciative of this opportunity, which was delivered by Freeformers and created through the schoo’s relationship with TeenTech.
School president Ellie Noble said: “Overall it was a fascinating insight into the world of digital business and today’s technological era.
“We left feeling enthused, inspired and that we were truly digitally savvy.”
Ellie has already made significant inroads into her career of choice, as a journalist and blogger for Wildabout magazine.
She attends shows and events such as London Fashion Week and the Sponsor Me Awards as part of her role.
She is also working on a book with Nicce London clothing, while currently studying English, geography and theology A-Levels, along with the extended project qualification, with a view to reading liberal arts at university.
At Alton Convent School, sixth-form pupils benefit from an “all-encompassing educational experience”. More details will be available at the sixth-form open evening on tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm.
