The chairman of a snooker league has paid tribute to a Bordon Working Men’s Club stalwart and committee member who recently died.

Thursday’s (June 12) AGM of the Farnham & District Billiards & Snooker League began with a minute’s silence for Matt Budd and fellow cueist Ken Larbey.

Nick Booth, FDBSL chairman, called the 40-year-old Bordon WMC vice-president a “really nice guy” in leading the tributes during the Lindford WMC meeting.

Mr Booth said: “He was really well liked – he was a big help to us and a played a big part in getting Jack Lisowski here for presentation night a few years a go.”

Mr Budd, who held a number of roles at Bordon WMC on Alma Road, died in hospital on May 25.
