HAMPSHIRE Police are reminding residents to keep outbuildings secure following a spate of thefts in the area.
In the past fortnight 31 non-home burglaries have been reported across East Hampshire, where outbuildings, which have sometimes been left insecure, have been targeted by thieves. For example, one incident in Standford Lane, Bordon, saw two chainsaws taken from a stable building between October 14 and 24.
Another incident, over night on October 18 and 19, in Mercury Close, Bordon, saw offenders enter a rear garden in order to gain entry to three metal outbuildings.
Padlocks were cut off and an electric drill and jigsaw were stolen.
Between October 10 and October 20, a property in Ullswater Close, in Bordon, was also targeted by thieves.
Offenders gained entry to a garden shed and, once inside, stole a Stihl pole multi tool, a Stihl disc cutter and Stihl chainsaw.
