A speeding driver was clocked doing 56mph in a 20mph zone in the heart of an East Hampshire village.
Lindford Parish Council chairman Ron Ruttle expressed dismay that a £25,000 Speed Indication Device (SID) hasn’t put the brakes on some anti-social drivers.
The speed was recorded near Lindford Working Men’s Club while a similar disregard for the 20mph limit has been seen on Windsor Road.
“We’ve spoken to the local bobby but it’s disappointing when we’ve spent £25,000 on an SLR and people are ignoring it,” said Cllr Ruttle, who was re-elected LPC chairman on Tuesday (May 6).
Councillors also heard that Hampshire Highways have agreed to repaint markings on speed bumps in the village as some are considerably faded.
