You could just imagine Phil or Kirsty reeling off the words on an episode of Location Location Location: Close to many amenities with strong public transport links.
But does the second part of that phrase really apply to Whitehill & Bordon when the nearest station is four miles away and bus services to Alton, Farnham and Petersfield could be, well, better?
It’s the use of the aforementioned four words which seems to have raised eyebrows in W&B as they’ve been used in the promotional blurb for a likely new 80-bed care home on Prince Phillip Park.
People who are on the PPP mailing list have been invited to give their thoughts on proposals for a three-storey “high-quality, sustainable care home” on open land west of Sandhurst Block.
The proposals have been brought forward by Care Build Group because the 1.38 acre site is “an ideal location” and “there’s a need for an extra care facility in the area”.
Strong public transport links or not, feedback is sought with people invited to make comments about the initial proposals in a community consultation via an online questionnaire.
“The carefully considered design would be a positive addition to this area within Bordon,” says the introduction.
“The design proposal will help to revitalise the area further and enhance the streetscape.”
The information boards go on to say that an “eclectic and sympathetic, yet modern palette of materials” would be incorporated into the suit the surrounding area and blend of different building styles and appearances.
“The proposed material palette and the articulation around the building is respectful of the historic character and vernacular of Bordon,” adds CBG.
