Brownscombe Care Residences is celebrating a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission following an extensive remodel and investment.

The rating comes hot on the heels of being listed one of the UK’s top 100 luxury care homes.

Registered Manager, Ali Packham, said: “We were thrilled to receive a ‘Good’ rating from CQC. We strive to deliver a high standard of care in an environment that both looks and feels like home for those who live with us.”

Brownscombe Care Residences is one of 14 care services run by CHD Living, a family-owned, award-winning group known for its driving ethos to ‘create happiness daily’. This latest CQC report marks the group’s second consecutive ‘Good’ rating, after its Kingston Neurorehabilitation Centre earned the same rating earlier this year.

Ms Packham added: "The newly refurbished rooms surpass the current market standard, going above and beyond typical expectations of a care home setting in the UK. Following the renovations, Brownscombe is both a beautiful place to live and to work.

“The environment means our team feels more like a family and our residents are at the very heart of this. Being able to provide facilities such as a cinema room and hairdressers means our residents get to continue engaging with things they have always done and enjoyed, within the safety and comfort of the grounds – meaning the care staff are never far away and they always feel supported.”

The CQC report also noted that relatives and staff told them of a positive and engaging atmosphere at the service, while speaking highly of Ali and her team.

One family member commented: “My father was a resident of Brownscombe House for many months. From day one, he received first-class nursing care. He was treated with dignity and compassion from very professional staff and excellent management. Our family feels very fortunate that Dad was a resident here.”
