A LINDFORD man was given a suspended prison sentence after he refused to pay council tax to East Hampshire District Council.
Sean Commander, 43, of Chase Road, was sentenced to 45 days imprisonment by Aldershot magistrates, on June 26.
But the sentence was suspended to enable the debt of £2,162.21 to be settled by regular weekly instalments.
Magistrates reached the decision after hearing the council had made every effort to assist him to pay his council tax.
