NATURAL history expert Andrew Cleave MBE, gives an illustrated talk on the birds and wildlife of Belarus at Haslemere Museum, on Saturday.

Off the tourist track, Belarus has been less affected by the mechanisation of farming that has reduced the variety of wildlife in more developed countries and the talk is a tour of the vast forests, lakes and rivers of the land-locked former Soviet republic, where conservationists are working to protect rare species at key sites.

Organised by the Haslemere Natural History Society the talk starts at 2.15pm, on Saturday, Feburary, 10.

Entry is free for members and £4 for non-members.
