AWARE that many residents are struggling financially, Whitehill Town Council voted last Monday to keep its council-tax precept for 2013-2014 "as low as it can".
As a result, the authority has increased council tax by 1.9 per cent.
But finance committee chairman Paul Wigan told members: "It would have been even lower if the council hadn't had to recoup the cost of the poll (on the eco town) the Bordon Area Action Group called in June."
