HASLEMERE Educational Museum’s charity golf day took place on September 10.
The annual fundraising was cancelled last year because of the global pandemic, so the return to the fairways at Chiddingfold Golf Club was very welcome.
Players enjoyed a bacon sandwich in the clubhouse, and went out to play 18 holes of great golf with a glass of bubbles and shortbread at the tenth hole, courtesy of museum president Melanie Odell and curator Julia Tanner.
Players also enjoyed a sandwich lunch as part of the day. Seven teams then battled it out on the greens and the Old Thorn Seniors team won the event.
Museum trustee and organiser Clive Reay said: "After a two year absence because of Covid, a very successful Golf Day was held at Chiddingfold Golf Club on September 10.
"A fun day was had by all, the 28 golfers attending for the day raising almost £1,000 for museum funds.
"The team prize was won by golfers from Old Thorns Seniors with the Comrades Club a close second. Well done and thanks to all involved."
As an independent charity, Haslemere Museum relies on membership, donations, legacies and grants.
Fundraising events form a key part of the strategy and as such the Museum are delighted that restrictions have been lifted and things are getting back on track.
