ALTON-based test and measurement equipment company Testo Ltd is turning 60 this year and to celebrate has decided to take on a worldwide charity challenge, with the aim “to get fitter as a team and raise money for a great cause!”.

Located on Newman Lane, the UK branch of the company is challenging its employees, friends, family, customers and business partners to run, cycle or walk to help achieve a target of 25,000 kilometres while raising money for Treloar School and College for young people with physical disabilities.

For every active kilometre achieved as a team between now and September 22, Testo UK will donate 40p to Treloar’s.

The maximum donation if the target is achieved, or overachieved, will be £10,000.

Testo UK spokesman Nikki Parnell said: “Treloar is an incredible organisation in Alton that helps more than 150 physically disabled children from all over the UK to learn and live an independent life.

“Eighty per cent of all students at Treloar’s suffer from a challenging form of cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy and 50 per cent have to communicate with the support from augmentative communication equipment.”
