A local brewer has restarted production after being unable to brew for three months following his departure from a Tilford pub.

Mark Collins, who runs Tilford Brewery, has found a new home at Triple fff Brewery in Four Marks after leaving the Duke of Cambridge in Tilford at the end of March 2025.

Tilford Brewery had been based at the pub for nearly a decade, but Mr Collins had to move out after the Duke of Cambridge was taken over by Brakspear.

Given just two weeks to leave and without a firm plan for the future, Mr Collins faced a race to find somewhere new to keep his business going.

He eventually approached Triple fff Brewery, which offered him space at its Four Marks site to produce his own range of beers.

But moving brewery created another problem.

Before he could start production again, Mr Collins had to re-register his APPA (Alcoholic Products Producer Approval) with HM Revenue & Customs.

He said: “I could not brew beer for three months for what essentially was an address change. I previously had the license to brew beer.”

With his beer stocks running low and unable to start brewing, Mr Collins began selling off raw materials to help keep the business afloat while he waited for approval.

His APPA was finally granted a couple of weeks ago, allowing production to resume.

Since then, Mr Collins has been working to rebuild his stocks and bring a wider selection of Tilford Brewery beers back to customers.

He will now be based at Triple fff Brewery and plans to produce his full range of beers from the site.

Triple fff has also begun serving his beers in its taproom alongside its own range.

Mr Collins said: “Triple fff have been amazing not only giving me a place to start brewing again but I’m also learning new things from them at their facility.”
