THREE former Treloar’s students will be competing in this month’s Paralympic Games in Rio.

David Smith and Patrick Wilson will represent Team GB in boccia, while Abbie Hunisett will compete in the club throw.

Abbie left Holybourne-based Treloar’s this past academic year and is the number one club thrower in the UK and ranked third in the world, so hopes are high for her for a golden result in Rio.

David attended Treloar’s from 2000 to 2008 and left to study aerospace engineering at Swansea University, graduating in 2016 with a masters degree.

Patrick left Treloar College in July 2014, and during his two years completed AS-Level French and AS economics.

Former Treloar Paralympians include Dan Bentley and Jess Hunter (boccia), Ben Rushgrove (athletics), Danielle Watts (swimming), and current staff member Martin Sinclair (seven-a-side football).
