THE Sunflower Trust, a charity which helps treat children aged from seven to 17 who are suffering from a range of difficulties, from Aspergers and dyslexia to behavioural problems and chronic fatigue, has been given a large donation from a mystery donor that will help with its work.
Benefiting from the generous gift will be the Trust’s clinic at Four Marks, which is run by Sheree McGregor, a qualified osteopath, who will assess the children and also carry out a full skeletal examination.
Nichola Atkinson, chief executive of the Trust, explained: “We believe that every child deserves to achieve their potential, regardless of wealth or background.”
In pointing out that in 2016 the Trust helped more children than ever before and “can evidence fantastic results”, Mrs Atkinson added: “A great deal of behavioural and medical problems can be caused by the body being out of alignment and after a recent test of 100 children only one was muscularly perfect.
“The clinics charge fees for their service but bursaries can be arranged for families on low income. This is why this generous donation is such a boost to the Trust because it can be shared among our clinics throughout the UK, including the one at Four Marks, to help our work and also to offer more bursaries.”
