THE UNDERSHAW Christmas fayre with stalls offering Christmas treats was a successful event for the pupils, their parents and the staff.
Haslemere mayor Cllr Simon Dear officially opened the event.
He said: "This visit came about because I met some students in Haslemere High Street on Armistice Day, and I was so impressed with their confidence and courtesy, and the fact that they were interested and they were asking questions.
"Undershaw seems to be very much at the heart of the community, and the sort of environment that produces those students in my view deserves support.
"Which is what we’re all here to do, to raise a bit of money to help the school prepare these young people.
"To give them the grounding they’ll need for happy, independent, fulfilling lives."
Cllr Dear was even interviewed by two budding journalists at the school, Molly and Edward.
