THE director of Bordon's Phoenix Theatre, Jane Dawes, and Andrew Stubberfield, the treasurer of the Bordon and Whitehill Community Association, have hit back at a comment made by former Whitehill town councillor David Williamson, believing they are among the "key client" organisations which the councillor said should do more to raise funds rather than rely on council grants.

Meanwhile, there was praise for the Mayor of Whitehill Bill Wain "for standing his ground at the budget meeting and pushing through the precept rise so the council has enough income next year to meet major grants".
