NEW Alresford Town Trust (NATT) members are smarting from the shock of an attack of vandalism on one of the town’s minibuses which could cost in the region of £1,000 to put right.

According to NATT trustee Pam Stevens, the minibus was broken into and items stolen sometime between Friday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 30, resulting in substantial damage to the interior of the bus.

Mrs Stevens added: “I am really surprised that anyone in Alresford would perform this despicable act on a minibus, specifically purchased as a lifeline to get the elderly and disabled residents out to the shops and leisure outings.

“I hope whoever performed this despicable act of vandalism has a conscience.”

Included in the items stolen was a wheelchair, which has since been returned by a member of the public but which may need to be replaced.

Anyone with information relating to the attack should call the police on 101 or call Pam Stevens on 01962 734861.
