Petersfield Golf Club swung into action for Remembrance as a special competition raised £1,175 for a charity that supports veterans with dementia.

The event in aid of Admiral Nurses and their sub-section Kitbags Live On was organised by former RN Officer Richard Williams and contested by 20 members who are veterans from all services.

Admiral Nurses, which is also the club’s charity of the year, is a specialist service funded by the Royal British Legion and Dementia UK which supports dementia-affected members of Armed Forces community and their families.

The Stableford competition won by former Royal Marine Bruce Alexander started with a two-minute silence with Mr Williams hailing the fundraising total as a “staggering amount and a great result.”
