BRITAIN’S best-loved gardener Alan Titchmarsh launched the new Welcome Centre - a £20m revamp of RHS Wisley this morning (June 10).

A founding RHS ambassador and vice-president, Holybourne’s most famous resident cut the floral garland with RHS director general Sue Biggs to declare the biggest UK plant centre open - stocking hundreds of specialist growers.

Alan joined the Greening Great Britain campaign by hanging his ‘Greening Great Britain Promise’ to continue to support specialist British nurseries, on a cherry tree

Special guest was Hindhead three year-old RHS life member Rosie O’Hare, who was actually born at the garden in 2016, when her mother Camilla gave birth earlier than expected.
