A corner of a Lindford car park became an inferno last weekend as a car fire destroyed a 4X4 and damaged surrounding vehicles.
The blaze was the second incident of its kind in two days as firefighters dealt with an electric vehicle fire on a Headley driveway the previous Wednesday (November 20).
Crews from Liphook, Rushmoor and Surrey FFR were deployed to the latter around 9am amid reports of a vehicle fire off Linden Road that was also affecting nearby properties.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire before using ventilation fans to clear smoke that threatened the adjacent property.
“The vehicle was moved and monitored whilst crews conducted community safety visits to nearby addresses,” said a spokesperson for Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service.
“Following the stop message at 10.20, a crew from Liphook returned to reinspect the vehicle, to ensure the temperature had dropped and the fire was fully out.”
No cause has been given but police were called following a similar incident in Lindford the following Saturday morning (November 23) following a car fire off Chase Road.
On-call firefighters from Bordon found a 4x4 well alight after being called to the area around 8am with footage of the blaze being circulated on social media.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze which destroyed the car and damaged two nearby vehicles.
The spokesperson added: “Police were informed of the incident prior to the crew leaving the scene and returning to the station.”
