EAST Hampshire District Council has extended the consultation period on the future of Bordon's Viking Park to the end of January, amid controversy over what it should be used for.
The district council is compiling a design and feasibility study on possible uses for the Viking Park site which, 10 years ago, was designated for leisure and employment and, it is clear from comments already received, residents want the emphasis to be on leisure.
Desperately needed, they say, are leisure facilities for young people, like a cinema or a bowling alley.
