A DEDICATED band of trustees, committee members and volunteers have spent the past five years working on a programme to rejuvenate Whitehill village hall.
And as chairman, Alan Waterhouse modestly summed up all their hard work by saying: “It is now fit for purpose.”
Certainly, the work that has been done over the past five years has put the hall, nestled behind trees and - being in Sutton Field - only yards from one of Hampshire’s oldest Bronze Age sites, firmly on the town’s map as the perfect community centre.
It is home to a wide range of events and activities - including receptions, drama, meetings, drop-ins, jumble sales and a bridge club - and is known as a friendly place to meet people.
