EVERY year for the past few years, Northchapel Primary School PTA has organised a 5km run around Northchapel.

It gets kids and grown-ups out in the countryside, and raises much-needed funds for the village school.

The school didn’t want to cancel it completely – and so has launched the ‘Northchapel lockdown 5k’.

Anyone and everyone can enter online at https://tinyurl.com/yc5qhv4y and then once entered, run or walk 5km.

Laura Green of the PTA said: “We had planned to run our 5k on June 20, so you need to have completed your 5k by June 21.

“Once you’ve completed the 5k, make sure you take an awesome finishing-line photo and post it on our ‘Northchapel 5k’ Facebook page, and we’ll post you a medal.”

It is hoped the event will raise £500 to support the school, with entries costing £2 per child, £5 per adult, or £10 to pay for an adult entry and donate an entry to a keyworker.

Laura added: “We’re looking forward to running the Northchapel 5k again in the autumn all together, but for now we hope you enjoy the challenge of the first ever Northchapel lockdown 5k!”
