THE PETERSFIELD branch of the group which runs the Poppy Appeal needs a helping hand with this year’s campaign.

The Royal British Legion is looking for volunteers to help with collections in the run-up to Armistice Day.

They’re also going green as this year’s Remembrance poppy is completely plastic free and can easily recycled.

The appeal raises vital funds to help veterans, serving personnel and their families who have served and sacrificed for their country.

The RBL relies on more than 3,500 dedicated volunteers to help deliver its nationwide appeal every year.

This year’s appeal starts on October 28 and runs through until Saturday, November 11, with Remembrance Sunday on the 12th.

Volunteers who help with running stalls and selling poppies will be fully trained while the role can help people develop skills such as public speaking and building confidence.
