The Longmoor neighbourhood policing team said it had received reports relating to overnight on Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9, of people trying vehicle door handles in the area.
Police community support officer Ellis Parish urged residents to remain vigilant, and shared on social media some of Hampshire Constabulary’s advice.
Tips include: locking the car; parking in a garage or a well-lit area; not leaving anything on display; leaving the glovebox open to show there is nothing inside and fitting an alarm.
Any suspicious activity should be reported on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
