THE sun shone, there was a flurry of snow, the band played and the choir sang - but where were the people to celebrate Bordon's first official Christmas festival complete with the first illuminated tree?

Until mid-afternoon, following its noon opening, very few people could be seen at the Forest Centre's new Event Space, where the main activities were taking place.
