ANOTHER appeal for readers’ help this week from Chris Wain of the Woolmer Forest Historical Society who writes: “I was looking at the Bordon photos in the Bordon Herald recently, when I saw an article on a Prince of Wales pub not in our parish.

“As a result, I wondered if your readers would be able to help with a photo taken in The Prince of Wales Pub in Whitehill.

“The building has changed hands and name several times recently so I will add various pictures of its appearance over the years.

“The postcard I have is of a group inside the pub and it was posted in 1915. I am hoping someone will be able to name them.”

Chris also has photographs showing the pub about 1905 when it was owned by Complins Brewery from Alton and again in more recent guise as The Roadmaker.

“If I recall correctly another name was The Outback and resulted in the building taking on a very bright colour scheme.

If you can tell Dr Wain more about the people in the 1915 image please drop her a line to [email protected] or via Peeps and I’ll pass the information on.

Also if you have images of the public house in more of its changing guises, I’d love to feature them here.
