CUSTOMER feedback for the friendly help and service provided by Bordon’s Wilko, in the Forest Shopping Centre, has helped the chain gain the highest level of customer satisfaction on the high street, according to the latest UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI).
Rising 45 places since last year, Wilko, founded in 1930, secured the number two spot in the July 2016 survey, beating high street giants Waitrose and M&S (joint 3rd), Apple (8th) and John Lewis (9th).
Online retailer Amazon secured first place.
The UKCSI is the national measure of UK customer satisfaction.
It rates customer satisfaction at a national, sector and organisational level across 13 sectors – individually rating many leading organisations.
The index run every six months since January 2008 involves interviews with 10,000 UK consumers.
Robin Lassiter, retail director at Wilko, said: “This is an extremely proud moment for us.
“At Wilko our team members work tirelessly to help our customers get their to-dos done, so it’s testament to their hard work to be placed so highly by the UKSCI.
“There are some popular retailers on the list so it’s a credit that our customers have rated us so positively, especially when pitted against such strong competition.
“We hope our customers will continue to enjoy the high level of customers service that they’ve come to love and expect from our 387 stores nationwide.”
