An interior design studio held a housewarming party after being gifted a unit in Brightwells Yard.

Staff at Amba House Studio are getting comfortable on Marlborough Walk following their success in the development’s recent “Win a shop” competition, writes Will Russell.

They gave hundreds of people a taste of their range and services when they served up fizz and furnishing ideas to visitors during the Farnham Food Festival.

“The last four months we haven’t been open as regularly as we would have liked, but a month ago we decided, as we were here, we would really try and open every day,” said co-owner, Kelly Wright.

Speaking on the increase in visitors during the food festival, Mrs Wright said: “It was quite a relaxed atmosphere, except when it was packed.

“There were times when there were so many people in here, it was so busy, but it was so fun.”

For the last three years, Amba House has been a predominately online business, relying on word of mouth and recommendations to expand their customer pool.

But with their new studio opening in Farnham, they are looking to appeal to a wider range of clientele with their walk-in option.

Mrs Wright said: “I wanted to be able to invite developers, estate agents, people who were looking to sell their property to a space where we can have a meeting, we can look at mood boards and case studies in person.

“The second reason I wanted to do this was because a lot of the time customers wouldn’t want to buy sofas, or more expensive products from a website without seeing it first.”

This is the first studio they have opened to accompany their online profile. They hope customers keep flowing in as they look to help the people of Farnham sell their homes.
