A youth support charity will take on the management and operation of a community hall in Headley Down.
Y+ Youth Services will deliver both existing and new programmes at Woodlands Hall on Larch Road from June 2025, under an anticipated 10-year lease.
The hall will soon offer services for young people and the wider community, as the local charity assumes responsibility for its day-to-day running.
East Hampshire District Council (EHDC), which owns Woodlands Hall on the Heatherlands Estate, has appointed Y+ Youth Services to manage the facility and provide a range of opportunities and activities for local residents.
Cllr Adeel Shah, the council’s portfolio holder for community development and engagement, said: “This is a great example of a local organisation coming forward to run a local facility.
“The council want to support local groups and organisations to take an active role in their community, Y+ is a great example of this.
“It is a brilliant organisation that has been running very successfully in Whitehill & Bordon for many years and we are delighted to be able to team up with them through this agreement.
“Woodlands Hall is a valuable facility that plays a really important role in the community and I am sure local residents are looking forward to enjoying the exciting activities that will soon be on offer.”
Jodie Gibbs-Farrow, Founder of Y+, said: "The Y+ Youth Services team are very excited to have been chosen to manage Woodlands Hall.
“We’re based in Bordon and have been working across East Hampshire for the last five years on a wide range of community projects, from youth clubs and mentoring programs to holiday activities, excursions and family cooking classes.
“We’re really excited to start work on bringing even more activities and groups to Woodlands Hall that will provide benefit and support to the wider community.”
