ALL-ROUNDER George Ellis will lead Headley 1st XI in their I’Anson challenge this season after returning from the USA.

Dominic Johnson will captain the 2nd XI and Alan Mistlin is in charge of the 3rd XI.

The club’s women’s team, the ‘Hotties’, are entering their fifth season of league cricket.

Their improvement has been steady since the team was formed. However, this season sees a new challenge as the team moves from the Hampshire League to a Surrey competition.

There will be more games, a slightly shorter format (30 overs per side) and a new coloured kit – in Headley’s traditional club colour of burgundy, thanks to £500 sponsorship from the Royal Exchange pub.

The current team, coached by Mike Hughes, has a mix of ages (13 years upwards) and experience. The main aim is to have some fun, while also developing cricket skills.
