Hampshire batter Ali Orr has been named in Scotland A’s squad for their upcoming series against Jersey.
The 14-player squad will head to the Channel Islands for four T20 fixtures against Jersey at Grainville Cricket Ground on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19.
His inclusion for Scotland A will depend on his selection for Hampshire in their Rothesay County Championship match against Somerset at Utilita Bowl, which runs from Friday, April 17, to Monday, April 20.
The 24-year-old Hampshire batter will follow in the footsteps of fellow men’s team-mates Brad Wheal and Scott Currie who have gone on to represent Scotland internationally, with Wheal featuring at the recent men’s T20 World Cup.
Orr said: “It’s really exciting to have this kind of opportunity. My mum’s side is Scottish, she was born and grew up in Edinburgh.
“I know her and the rest of our family will be delighted to see me honour my Scottish heritage, and hopefully I can balance these opportunities with my commitment to Hampshire.”
Orr joined Hampshire ahead of the 2024 season.
His maiden century for the club came against Durham in 2024 at Utilita Bowl, and he followed it up with three tons in the 2025 Metro Bank One Day Cup, including a three-figure score in the final at Trent Bridge against Worcestershire.
